underbody lights
 

I just installed a set of underbody lights one my 7. not sure if anyone is really into this kinda thing, but I think it looks really cool. the car glows greens at night. it looks way better in person, or when the flash in my camera doesn't go.

i think if done right it can look good...

Forgie, its really your decision. Don't let anyone on this forum try to sway you away from what you like. If you like it, its obviously good. You might be surprised at how many people like it. If its done right, it will look good to most people.

I think I told you something like that a few days ago when you were getting down about what people were saying about your car ;)

mine are blue! hahahaha they looked good until i curb checked my front valance and broke the bulb, now i get a loud (yes, you can HEAR the arching), purple sparks arching form my wiring (yes through the insulation) to my frame and only half of them glow....ah but no worries, i got a replacement bulb in my room that will be on in time for RR. Although it is rice, I really think it adds somthing to the car......when sitting in a parking lot of course, you tell that to the cops. Now to make sure it's done right, MAKE SURE YOU CAN NOT SEE THE BULBS, IMHO, it looks like crap if you can see the bulbs. i bought ground effects, front airdam, and rear wrap around that will go on as well to solve that problem. anyways, enough rambling about me, PICTURES MAN! WE NEED PICTURES!

yah can u put some pics up,i was thinking of doing this too,just want to see how it will look.

I think lowglows look cool if you cant dee the actual bulb, just the light on the road.

Get a few more friends together and you can go rob DVD players from big rigs.

I have considered lights but there is no way I would turn them on to go to the store. shows and parades only.

It is imparative that you cannot see the bulbs. First of all, if you can see them, they are probably vulnerable to stones and whatnot and will probably get broken. Second, it just looks bad.

I agree that they are only good for shows or just hanging out in a parking lot or something. They do add something to the car when standing still. I've got blue in car neons that I will be installing when the car is ready. I have an extra one though. What do you think I could do with it. I was thinking about putting it behind the grill so it shines on the road and is still protected from the elements.

Underbody lights are a no go for me personally, just because I don't like extra weight. I think the problem most people have with underbody lights is poser racers saying they run 11s in their mom's DX Civic (or worse the HF CRX... with an HF motor), and having lights on the car. The lights are strictly for show cars, not race cars. So please, people with underbody lights: don't pose as a racer, it just makes you look silly.

I like 'em too. Depending on your local laws, you might not be able to use any other colors besides white or yellow.

Pretty sure you can't use reds and blues (law enforcement).

I would like a set of blue ones (maybe the indestructible L.E.D type) installed on mine in the future.

That spoiler must give some serious downforce when you're creeping along... and breakneck strolling speeds,... or something.

I personally like them. Also I think that they are a safety device as well. Seriously, you know how semi-trucks have the yellow lights that run along the side of the cab and trailer to help make them visable from the side. The neons do the same.

Think about how more visible everyone would be if they had undercar lighting at night. And no adverse blinding effects that you get from high wattage headlights.

I temperarely wrapped the frame of my Jeep Wranger with green rope light and hooked it up to a power inverter. Not as nice as neon but cheap and their rubberized so rocks don't hurt them. And if they ever do go out you can buy it by the foot at local hardware stores and splice in new sections.

Just do what I do, if you have an EBay selling account. Make, or attempt to edit a new auction. Insert your pic, and right click on it when it shows up in step 5 of 5. Copy the URL (http thingy) and post it in the forum with the IMG command.
