wackyracer...go ahead and let me know...I'm actually more concerned in just getting the 48IDA, than the easy to get manifold. But with a good price I'll buy 'em both carb and intake. thanks!

BAdass the dual 36DCD don't use the TWM intake or does it?...the TWM intake is for sidedrafts (DCOEs)...

I'm interested in any of the following:

Less than $800 48IDA/intake combo (I just got quoted that from a seller) or

TWM dual intake (got the carbs) or

36DCD downdraft twin like nimrodTT's setup (great pics BTW)

to me these seem like the "better" choices out there.

riffraff I have been reading that it is about up too 15% more restrictive...which makes sense since there is a lot more friction just by the distance traveled by the air/fuel mixture and the bends. The only problem with the lake cities type single or dual TWM is the heat from the headers...easily fixed with a heat shield.

Secondhand IDA's with manifold usually go here for about $800-900 AUD which is about $400-450 American. Not sure what the shipping would be but I'd say the total would fall well under your budget. You could try one of the Aussie shops such as SelectMaz.

nimrodTT 05-04-02 02:23 AM

What's the number to that shop...big ass profit, here I come!

Seriously, pm me.

mperformance 05-04-02 02:39 AM

I'm with nimrodTT...I'll profit outside USA so no competition for nimrod...what's the number or page REV? shipping to where I'm at or the US should not be more than $100 after import taxes by sea or other cheap method. Absolutely worth the trip.

mp - If you do get the TWM, let me know. We're planning on running that in a similar setup with 2 40 Dellortos off an Alfa. Got the carbs, just need to scrounge the money for the manifold

mperformance 05-04-02 07:54 AM

FB+AWDDSM I will I will...getting closer to do the jump...I'll give myself 2 more weeks (maybe cause I'm ready now). If I don't get a better deal...I'll do it. Can you imagine? 4 butterflies, the wow factor on looks, perfect drivability, awesome top end power...ahhh days and nights of tunning...just peeeeeerfect :)

BadAssRX-7 05-04-02 09:17 AM

yea the pic nimrod posted is the dcd setup.

85RX7GS 05-04-02 06:40 PM

Get it.

REVHED 05-04-02 06:50 PM

Try Select-Maz or Phils Rotary's.

I can't say they'll have one available at any given time but they do get them through quite often.

DriveFast7 11-24-04 08:16 PM

So has anyone here installed and ran the dual 40 DCOE sidedrafts? Update?

Hyper4mance2k 11-24-04 09:21 PM

jammers did, but don't think he ever dynoed it or ran it before he sold it... too bad...

nimrodTT 11-25-04 01:56 AM

Blast from the past...those 48IDAs are going for a little over $500 with manifolds now, what a difference 2.5 years makes.

drivefast7, are you talking about the side-feed ones that almost touch the fender, I know some people who have run those in the past.

DriveFast7 11-25-04 12:42 PM

Yep nimrodTT, the twm manifold positions the carbs above the header and the velocity stacks almost touch the inner fender well.

I'm looking for someone who has good jetting specs for dual 40 dcoe's with the twm manifold

alien_rx7 11-26-04 02:19 AM

Wow, old post back to life :D I'm working on the TWM setup right now with Mikuni 40PHH's (pictures at my cardomain site in my sig) and I think WAAPST is doing the same with maybe the Webers.

DriveFast7 11-26-04 12:02 PM

Thanks alien rx7, when you get it running let us know how it runs and what the jetting is.

Most definitely will be posting the info since no one ever seems to post jetting info on the Mikunis for rotaries.
