turn signal and hazards lights not working

All of a sudden and out of the blue my turning and hazard lights stopped working. Everything else electrical is working. I checked the fuse - nothing. Checked grounding of the CPU - nothing. Checked voltage of LY line - Ok. Checked voltage of GY - no voltage. Checked wiring of that line, nothing seemed cut, burned, disconnected or otherwise misfunctional. What do I do now, any suggestions?

Did a search BTW but didn't find anything that gave me a clue.

check the 'flasher' - it's an electrical unit that plugs into the harness and makes your blinkers blink.

dark mephisto 07-29-04 09:30 AM

umm, try your fuseable links

Why should I check the flasher if the GY line doesn't show voltage?

how about getting a different car? It seem to me that your FB is filled with problems.

fuel pump, lug nuts, now electrical. whats next??

shake all the wires around underneath where your fuse box is. I shook all those wires around a lot (pushed them towards the fuse box) when mine stopped working, that fixed the problem and they've been working since. just a loose connection or something I guess

Tried that - no joy,

oldskoolrx-7 07-29-04 05:34 PM

same thing happend to me, idk i was messin around with all the wires underneath, and all of a sudden it just started to work again, i went to a autoparts store to get a flasher they gave me this round looking thing but i could not find such a thing in my car, weird, wasted my 5 bucks there cuz they dont accept any electronic parts returned...

The connection forward of the fuse box gets worn out. Disconnect it clean the contacts and re-install. Worked on mine.

And you had the same problem, no turning signals and hazard lights not working at all?

Exactly! They worked on the way to work, but on the way home they stopped. I got home and played with the connection and wham! They worked. I unplugged it and cleaned the conectors and haven't had a problem since.

Just cut all the wires :rlaugh: then you don't have to worry about anything.

Good One!!!! :rlaugh:

cdrad51 07-31-04 04:00 PM

OK so to follow up, today I got a CPU and relay from another forum member, and then we drive to Wackyracer's place and were talking shit for a little bit. I popped my hood and he opened it, therefore touching the car. After a while I drove back home to get ready to replace the CPU and relay. As I'm getting back home and out of custom, I put on my blinkers and they now work!! Wacko, I swear you have the magic touch!

Brianhsval 07-31-04 05:37 PM

That is what happens when the connector forward of the fuse box does when the connection is not solid. Hit a bump not work, tap it with foot on accident it works..so on and so forth.....

cdrad51 08-01-04 10:32 PM

Well as it turns out it was a loose connection in the cluster switch that connects to the CPU.
