Turbo FB Question (quick)
Are push through and blow through setups the same thing? Is this better than a pull through? (seems much simpler/efficient)? I'll be starting a push through turbo project soon using the stock TII turbo with a streetported 12a, just wanted to see if people mean the same thing when talking about push/blow, so I know I'm doing the correct research. Thanks

dont bother with draw though
its crap and nobody uses it at all anymore go with the s5 turbo and a decent carb and itll be fine |
What is draw through? Not push through, correct? I'm thinking push through with s5 turbo and either jetted nikki or holley. thanks

ive never heard the term push through, but yea it seems logical that push through and blow through would be the same. i have also heard that a blowthrough setup is much better than a pull/draw through one, but i dont know why - i am curious tho, as i am working on a turbo fb also...

Draw through is where the carb is placed before the Turbo in the airstream, Blow through is where the Turbo is before the Carb in the airstream and then the air charge passes through the carb just like a traditional throttlebody (placement-wise)

Yes, I am talking about placing the turbo before the carb. Intake -> turbo -> intercooler -> carb. So this is called a blow through, awesome. Thanks guys!

whats the disadvantage(s) of a drawthrough setup?
|
You get gas going through the turbo?
|
Draw-through are harder to start. You can't use intercoolers w/ them becuse the fuel will puddle in the intercooler. Intake manifold freezes up.
