Trying to free up stuck apex seals?
I just picked up a reman with low compression in the rear rotor. Checked the apexes and they seem to be stuck(no movement). Anways I have been soaking it with MMO and it has loosened up some and now has some movement but I'm not satisfied with the compression. It's still noticeably low compared to the front rotor so I ordered some Power foam. It should get here some time next week but till then I will keep using the MMO. When I get the Powerfoam can I use it with the MMO still in the motor or should I purge it out?
Thanks, Ed |
the power foam works best if the engine is running..
rev it to about 3500 rpms and spray the hole can it. be sure to keep the rpms up.. powerfoam is the bomb!!! carl. |
The motor is off the car. I didnt drop it in yet because of the compression issue. I didnt want to waste anymore time. I wasted enough picking this thing up thinking it would be a drop in. Can I still use the PF?

Thanks, Ed only my 1 cents the other one (cents) ran off! |
Its a reman that I purchased from someone on the board but if I cant get these seals to free up it is going back. I'm thinking of dropping in the motor so when my PF arrives I can have it running then clean the insides. Any thoughts?
