Try to get my car registered: Chapter 1

So I have a recipt from the guy I bought the car from, but he's not the owner on record. So I am having a bonded title made up in Texas for me. I went to mazda to get replacement keys cut for my car, (it didn't come with any). And they said I would need a title, or something to show the progression of ownership. Along with the keycode that is stamped on each key cylinder. So I am holding off on keys, but they did give me something kindda cool I thought I would share.

They gave me record of the car: the assembly date, it's port of entry into the US, it's wholesale dealer location, it's retail seller's location and also it's colour codes.

Kindda interesting if I say so my self.:coolkid01

Title should be easy enough. Just go to the DMV apply for Loss title and in a few weeks, more like 6 to 8 you should have one. It might be faster now. They should be checking for thieving bastards that steal RX7s. Not that it is you, but supposed to protect you.

As for the key stuff, just call a locksmith. I had one make a key for my FD when I lost mine. (I still think it is someplacein the car when I sold it)

Guy pulled up in a truck and handed me a key that worked in about 15 min. Cost me $50 I want to think.

You cant do a lost title with the last owners Sig, ( in lots of states), A title bond is the way I had to do my last car that I moved from GA to NC.

Keep us updated on the bonded title issue. I bought an sa a little while back that did not come with a title and I was somewhat curious how this sort of thing would work out in texas. What company did you end up going through, and If you don't mind my asking, what did it run you?
