Torqueing the FW Nut
I don't know about you but my torque wrench doesn't go anywhere near 260 pounds. What do you do? Can you just set your impact wrench on high and go? Herb

I use a 4ft wrench, and just put my weight on it. I know its not the most precise instrument, but over 350k combined miles none of them have loosened yet.

i have the RB bar, which is about 3 feet, i'm about 150lbs... its close enough. its pounds feet, so you can do the maths
|
I crank up my 600 lb air gun to 3/4 and just have at it. I know it may be
overkill but its worked for years now. |
in reality over tightening isnt going to harm it much unless you tear the threads off (not easy to do) just tighten them as close as you can. it should be fine

150ft-lb plus 60 degrees.
This is convenient since the points on the nut are 60 degrees apart, so it's easy to make marks to line up. |
I've had to throw a nut away from over torquing with an impact, so you have to be careful.

I always just put on a drop of blue loctite and hit it with my best 1/2 impact(not that great of one, I'm a cheapass FB owner afterall...probably 300ft/lbs), never had a problem. The first time I did it I borrowed a 4' torque wrench from the machine shop and set it to 350, either way works fine.
