Torque specs for 1985 rx7 bee hive oil cooler?
 

Didn't expect it to be this hard, I checked my Haynes manual and 2 other shop manuals. Nothing

not sure the size but probable metric. any hardware store/automotive parts store that carries O-rings should have what u need. just take an old one with u or they can match one up to the bottom side of the cooler.

I think he is asking for where to find the torque spec, not the O-rings. Torque is normally figured according to the size and hardness (grade) of the fastener, not the part which the fastener is assembling. I've never had a beehive, only a FMOC. Guessing that the bolts are 6mm x 1.00 pitch. They should be a standard grade of 8.8 hardness or possibly a softer 4.8, since they thread into the rear iron which is a cast part and not as strong.

A 6mm fastener could be btw 3.5 - 6.5 ft-lbs depending on grade and assembled wet or dry. A "lubricated" torque means that you apply never seize, grease or a light oil on the threads / under the head.

I tightened mine to one quarter of a grunt and it doesn't leak. Make sure to do all 4 o-rings (there's two where the assembly mounts to the engine and two between the pieces of the cooler itself; you'll see the bolts when you take it off).

Is that anything like German torque, Gutentight?

The trick is to make a clicking noise with your mouth when you finish tightening it - it tricks the bolts into thinking you've used a torque wrench (they don't have eyes to see it was just a ratchet!)
