top speed of my 83 gs/gsl stock
 

my speedo cable is broke/ unplugged, just bought the car last night and was wondering how fast 5250 rpm is?

or something close, my mom said when i was at 3.75 it was 75 and 4k was 80 so... like 100? 110?

she was following in the 2000 mustang so i figure her speedo is right lol...

thats pretty much the top speed of my 83 gs/gsl

just wondering what that would equal out too.

i got my '83 up to 120ish on perfectly flat, sea-level highway. i was at the top of 4th gear, and the car doesn't have enough juice to push it in 5th so it slows down.

oh, well i was in 5th, but i went to 6kish before i shifted into 5th so i dunno, it is lacking in top end tho, in need of a larger rear dif. like 4.11 lol

the 4:11 is going to lower your top end but give you more torque. My 85 SE before I tore the rearend out topped out like 120's. Now with the 3:93 idunno.
