Is this TOO stiff ya think
85 GSL, mostly stock (for know, got many plains) I'm thinkin GC coilovers in front w/ Tokico Illuminas all the way around and eibach springs in back. my 2 questions are, is this to stiff for "spirited" (i love that word, haha) street and daily driving as well as maybe a track day or two. 2nd question, what rate springs should i get for front and back? 350# to stiff?
|
ALSO, with coilovers in front, won't the front be lower then the back?
|
I can't answer your question, but that is what I plan on doing, along with poly bushings, panhard bar and tri-link setup. Good Luck!

Get the springs that have like 5 dead wound coils and you can cut them without changing the spring rate.
|
yup.. that's my setup..
GC coilovers, 350# springs Illuminas on all 4 corners... Yes the front is lower than the back, but the coil overs are adjustable, so you can fix that if you like. Yes it's stiff.. if you have many rough roads or a bad back, ya ain't gonna like it too much, but if you're young and flexible it's quite tolerable.. I like my setup the way it is, someof my passengers don't. I can't say about teh eibach on the rear, I'm still on stock springs at the moment. I'm trying to come up with a way to rig aadjustable ride height in the back as well, but not coming up with much. If you want advise on spring rates, just talk with teh guys at GC, or better yet, G-froce.. they'll set you straight depending on your needs. I'm setting mine up for optimal CSP class autoX performance and not really worring about streetability. I'm tolerant... |
I run 350# springs in the front, I dont think it's that stiff at all. I have my shocks on setting 2.....nice and smooth. It's my daily driver :)
|
I run a great deal stiff and it is nice on the track and a little stuff on the street.
You do not want to run stiffer the #350 with illumina, that is about what they can handle. Good luck! |
Isn't setting #2 for the shocks to soft for 350# springs?
