Tokico Illumna Question, and more thoughts on recoverability.

Is the front Tokico Illumna just a cartridge or does it replace the whole shock part of the front strut? (I'm talking the tube with the lower spring perch, all the way down to where it bolts onto the thing that has the spindle on it. (I know. I'm a mechanic, but very bad with terminology... The thing that bolts to the ball joint is the knuckle... What bolts to the knuckle?)

I've been trying to accumulate cash for my RX-7 because I dunno what was broken buring the wreck... I was thinking just shy of worst case. (Worst case being bent unibody.) I put just these few junkyard parts on my car:

Control arm w/ Ball Joint (It was mangled.)
Tie Rod (Snapped threaded rod like a twig.)
Fender (Obviously)
Right sway bar link (Old one was rusted to hell, Had to hacksaw it.

I was thining I need to replace the following, in addition to getting the junk yard parts (Of unknown quality) off of there.

Strut, Knuckle, Spindle assembly (Didn't see any bends, but I didn't go out there with a micrometer either.)

Wheel bearings (In addition to the wreck, I drove it 20 miles on some severe toe misadjustment.)

Steering Box (Side impact, maybe messed up the gears inside? I dunno how to tell.)

Steering cross linkage. (I think I can get away with junkyard parts on that one. It's just a steel bar.)

I'v actually learned how to tell a bent unibody in my type of collision from some people. (Measure diagonally from equal points in the engine bay.

People who've ressurrected crashed RX-7's, I'd like to hear form you... Who rebuilt the one that was totalled?

For those who don't know, Sliding Sideways impact to front, right wheel/fender area @ roughly 30 miles per hour into a 96 Toyota Corolla.

Tokico illuminas are strut cartridges which fit inside the strut tube assy. Here is a diagram of the frame measuring points, hope you can read it okay, I had to resize the hell out of it to get it to fit within the 102.4Kb limit. -WG

If the strut tube assembly is bent or the spindle ms damaged, will it be obvious or will I have to go checking it out with a micrometer?

Also, I'm looking for a Power Steering box... No pump, just the box. Anyone have one around, maybe in a parts car that they're willing to get rid of?
