timing problem please help
ok i do know what spark plug i need to use to time it but when i time the car using leading weire #1 and set the timing mark where it should be the car runs like shit and has a had time accelerating. but if i use the leading coil wire to time it the car run fine and really responsive better then my efi 323. now if i use the timing mark and leading#1 to time the car it idles at 100rpm. but if i use the leading coil wire it runs at 700-800 ish rpm.
ps i did change the pully back where it should be. ?? 1. Whats is the worst that can happen to the car if the timeing is off? because i think i just might use the leading coil wire to set the timing its seams to be the only thing wrking good |
first thing first. do the flywheel or the spark plug trick to verify that the pulley is installed in the right position.
|
did that. and it was in the wrong position, i was getting a timing mark on the leading #2 now its leading#1 so thats fixed. i can see the mark good on parkplug #1 leading, but when i enlign the marks it runs like shit (using the leading #1 sparkplug wire)

are you saying that the pulley was installed in the wrong position?
How about using more periods and start a new paragraph for a new topic. |
There are three items which must be properly aligned to ensure that your ignition/motor will be timed together....
Flywheel (to ensure that you are actually at TDC) Front pulley Distributer Make sure that all three of these line up properly before proceeding.... |
ok thanks
