Timing - Mechanical Advance

Hi, I have an odd issue. When I get the timing set to where the car can run thru the RPM she won't idle well so I was wondering if there is a way to adjust the mechanical by a degree or so?

Thanks,
Mike

I would definately look at the carb first. Had a similar problem on our VW rabbit last week. The timing was set way off, when we set the timing properly, it idled like garbage. Long story short in our case our mixtures were all wacky to compensate for the bad timing in the beginning.

Another thing you might want to check is for vacuum leaks. Last year, I had a helacious one that would cause it to idle like butt.
