Throttle dumping = stall with new Weber
 

Ok, got everything working, and just when i floor the pedal at a stop, it dies. Oh, its an automatic also--i know i know.. it sucks-- but could/would this be because i havn't got a fuel pressure reg yet? I just put in new NGK's also.

since your weber doesn't have any secondaries, you'll be looking at something we call flooding. you stomp on your gas and the accelerator pump (if webers have one, i only know normal 4 barrels...) will just flood the engine full of gas, instentateously fatteing your mixture and from an idle your engine won't be spinning fast enough to compensate, so your engine will just bog right out.

you have to be light on the pedal on a carb with no secondaries. didn't anyone tell you that when you bought a weber?

It's not something we call flooding. (who's we anyway? ;)) It's actually just the opposite. If you open the throttle too quickly with a big two-barrel the engine won't be drawing enough air through the venturis to pull fuel from the main circuit. This usually results in a lean condition or bog. You can try to tune it out by using smaller venturis (thus compromising outright power), adjusting the acclerator pump and playing with the transition circuit but it will always be there to some degree.

What kind of Weber is it and what size venturis? You can't just floor it with a two-barrel carby for the reason I posted above. Try easing the throttle on. If it still has a bad bog you should make sure the accelerator pump is working, the float level is set correctly and there is nothing clogging the transition circuit. Then there's the matter of idle jet size as well. :D

you need to upgrade your ignition system ,sounds like your running stock ignition. Too much gas for your engine not enough spark to burn it. Go with MSD-6A 0R 6AL. Dont procrastinate it will give more power too

hes got 36mm venturies so it should not bog much at all .... try richening up the idle mixture screws (turn the mixture screws counterclockwise)

my white car is turbo automatic with the same carb you have and it only bogs a tiny bit when i punch it from a dead stop
