Throttle cable/linkage
 

I got the carburetor rebuilt in my 1982 rx and I didn't take it off so I can't figure out the cable linkage. If anyone can help or knows where I can find diagrams I would appreciate that.

Not my picture here, but the top one is the choke thats next to the fuel inlet. The bracket that sticks out on the far right, that's kinda large is throttle, with the two 12 MM nuts on the cable. the lowest looking one in the pic is the hot start assist, and the remaining one is the cruise control, only matters if you have cruise control. don't forget the omp rod with the cotter pin that hooks up the carb.

Also you need a bent 12MM wrench to put in two of the carb nuts, and a small screwdriver to thread them.

That's an 84-85 Nikki. You can tell cause the idle adjustment screw was removed and controlled by vacuum.
Its not the same as an rx4 Carb.

haha i was wondering what the hell you were saying. yeah and in 81 they sealed the mixture screw. my carb's never been rebuilt, it runs great. gotta love those nikki's. some of the best carbs around in my opinion.

To bad sterling doesn't build carbs anymore. But the throttle cable does go on the last linkage piece. First one closest to the Carb is I stiaght looking hook that goes to the hot start assist. Second linkage is round and is for the cruise control. And third linkage farthest from the Carb is the throttle cable linkage. That's how mine is and mine is an 84 and its just like the one in the picture.

Oh and that description goes in order by the actual pieces on the butterfly shaft.

No kidding, I'd love to have one of those setups. I could strip it and put in larger jets, and do mechanical secondaries, but the stuff he does to those carbs and the performance are unreal. I can only imagine what the carb would perform like on an RB or similar manifold that flows well.
