Tried starting up an 83 rx7 after being in storage for 3 years. It has no spark, the coils have key on power. But there is no spark from the coil wires to the distributor. I would like to test the ignition modules but I don't fully understand the circuit that has to be made up like the one shown in the Mazda manual. To me it looks like the test lamp would always be lit up because it is tied into the positive battery terminal? Am I missing something simple? Thanks.

One terminal if the test lamp goes to 12+ and the other goes to the C terminal of the igniter.
The igniter switches the negative not the positive.
It works if you connect it like the diagram.
Good luck!
