temp guage not working

My temp guage quit. I have a new thermostat to put in and plan to flush the rad, but where is the temp sender and will I screw anything up when I flush ??? thanks Bob

you wont mess anything up when you flush. the temp sender is located on the left side of the engine, near the oil pressure sender. its a one wire bullit connector.

The temp sender is just next to the oil pressure sensor under the oil filter on the engine, check the connecion there.

The best way to check if the temperature gauge is working is to pull of the wire from the sender and touch it to the engine to ground it. When you do that, your temperature gauge should go all the way off the end on the hot side. If not, either the gauge or the wiring up to it is bad.
