Taurus Electric Fan In Stock Shroud

2 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,
I had bought a taurus electric fan along time ago like many, But i found the shrouding, although it fit nicely on our stock rads, was fairly restrictive, the car cooled nicely at low speeds, and idling, but on the highway, the car would heat up considerably. So I cut the shroud off the fan, and rivited it to the inside of the stock shroud. It fits quite nicely, It even gives me more clearance between the pully than the taurus shroud. This project was probably more work than needed, but I like the results. The highway temperatures are nice and low once again. anyways have a look.

Nice, thanks for sharing. This keeps things looking slightly more stock too, always a plus.

is that a 2 row radiator? and how high is considerably hot? Maybe ur radiator is clogged. Yes, there is a slight restriction even with a fiero fan but if you have a good 3-row, it should be fine. In fact, in my FB with fiero fan, the highest outlet temp (using autometer water temp gauge behind the water pump housing) I've seen is about 200 max with the fan off. thats going up the mountains during hot LA summer days.

looks good to me but how did you hook up the wiering? Did you use a switch or some sort of temp senser to turn it on.

Thanks

I just used two relays, one for low speed and one for high speed, and hooked them up to two switches. I'd like to get a temp sensor, cause sometimes in traffic i'll forget to turn them on. No over heating issues as of yet. Next step is the air oil cooler, I just have to get some lines fabbed.
