supertrapp muffler???
 

What you guys a thinking about instaling a supertrapp muffler on my rex? Now I have a racing beat one, but I want something with more noise, and I think at supertrapp cause is "tunable". My only question is, if it can suport the exesive haet of a rotary. I have a roadrace headers and dual exhaust line with power pulse presilensers.

I had dual supertrapps on my 2nd gen. I didn't really use the disc to tune. Just to control the volume. When I autocrossed the car I took the caps totally off. The supertrapps are rebuildable. Before I ever used mine I replaced the fiberglass packing with stainless steel wool. I bought a roll at www.mcmaster.com.

Do you plan on using one or two. If using two I'd suggest the 4" series with 2" inlet in a length as long as will fit. You can weld them together and run a tru dual system up to them or have your system merge before the axle and split after the axle. That depends on the porting of your engine. If single is more your taste go with the 5" series 2.5" inlet the longest length that will fit. 24" is the norm I think.

Go with the stainless body if your budget permits.

Yes, I use the 3" inlet 5" disc one. Search on SummitRacing.com

they don't perform well on rotories and they're very loud.

Why they don't perform whell?

They catch blown apex seals.

Dual side by side will give better noise suppression.

So if i don't install a supertrapp, what is your suggestions???

Putting a supertrapp on is like stuffing a sack of potato's in your present exhaust. It may make less noise with that route (the potato's), but you'd actually end up with more power than putting a Supertrapp on. About the only good thing I can say about the ST is that you can take all the discs off of it, so it's just a bare-ass pipe, but then again why spend the money to do that unless you need to in order to fulfill rules (which is the only reason I haven't taken a holesaw and gas axe to that horrid piece of shit).

If you want to "make more noise", then you're gay. Additionally, you're an asshat, and I hope you hit a tree. But, if you want it to be louder why not just have dumps under the car? That's plenty loud for me, I get a headache every time I move my customer's car which has an RB header and shitty "Y" to some even shittier muffler, and dumps under the passenger seat. Of course, it's a real racecar, so nobody cares about noise or exhaust fumes.

I have duel Supertraps on my V8 240Z but would never recomend it for a rotary. I've seen singles on autox & road race RX-7s but they are not for the street. Unless you never plan to get on it.

I don't realy want do much more noise, but put the rotary sound in evidernce, and no, I'm not gay. i want have less restriction, and I donèt want just install a regular chicken-beaker glass pack.

Why do you want to change from Racing Beat? They are by far the best allround package when it comes to loudness and performance. I can put it as simple as this: The Racing Beat mufflers are designed for a rotary, while the Supertrap is not!

Ah! ok, i'm asking question cause a rotary is new for me.....I owne one since september, but she's in storage since November.
