Stupid headlight plug

How do I remove the female spade connects from the headlight plug?

99% of the time there is a tab you can push down with a paper clip or something of
that sort, and you can slide it out. I have been trying ALL DAY to get atleast ONE of
these out! Any one have any ideas? Getting a new plug and spade connects
(especially 90*) are tough to come by. NAPA has them but for $30 a set.

Ah Stu this sucks. Been there with _other_ OE connectors. Funky 90-degree angle not-withstanding, the wee lock tabs should be the same on all these (?). You need to go at 'em from the connection-end, tho I assume you know that. I have found a thick sewing needle or a fine jewelers screwdriver seems best, tho how you hold your tongue seems to help ;)
Of _course_ there is a special tool for this. (??)

Thanks Stu :)

I finally got it out yesterday. There is a tab on the lower end of the spade connect that I
pushed up from the backside. When I got it pulled out of the plug, the tab was higher than
the spade

I'll be going to NAPA today to see if they have any of these 90* spade connects. Advance
Auto didn't have any.

If you don't need them immediately, you might try giving Digi-Key a call. They generally carry those connectors.

I bought a fistful of connectors and terminals and sprang for the crimping tool from The Beav. These look like they came right off a Mazda parts shelf. Fab stuff.
