straightening a f*ed up wheel.
I am most likely buying a set of 83 Limited wheels from a guy on this forum. One of them however is slighly bent. I have attached a pic so you can see the problem. It doesn't look that bad but I'm not sure. Is there a way to fix this or is it pretty cheap to have a pro do it? Please any advice info would be greatly appreciated because I have searched hard to find these wheels and am excited to have found them. I just want to make sure it is something I can fix. :)

Hit it with a hammer :D
~T.J. PS - If that doesnt work, get a bigger hammer :D. |
LOL, but seriously though can a wheel with a minor bend like that one be repaired sucessfully?

I have massaged a few, but they were steel and I wasn't worried about looks. hit it with a deadblow plastic or rubber faced hammer. see if that works.

take it to a tire place, they will heat it up and make it purdy again (or so i'd asume)

how much are these wheels worth, just wondering, are they rare, i saw some at a garage sale, $50 for all four , should i go back and get them, they were gold color paint thou, he may take less if they are still there.

you just got to make sure theu are in fact LE wheels. they looked like the enkeis and the epsilons, not really sure of they were different, though. From pics ive seen the LEs had a curved surface and the others were flat.
How far are you from kenilworth, exit 138 on the parkway, if that helps. theres a place that fixes rims, keystone is the name i believe. |
