Turbo timers....

I know they are a gimmick, I have talked so many people out of them in the 10 years I have been fixing cars I could fill this .com with their names, so since I am so bias towards this "thing" and new to the awesome magic that is the RX7 I want your input.

With rotaries being so finicky would it be a good "just in case" thing to have?

The turbo rotaries I've dealt with I just let the engine run for a few minutes to cool down once I got to my destination. Also I would drive moderately before I got there and didn't beat on them the last 10 minutes or so before I got where I was going.

Yep thats what I used to do, both of those things. The whole point is to keep the oil from coking and your bearings from burning up right? Doesnt water cooling help this to an extent?

I suppose if you beat your car to **** til the last second, and have to immediately leave your car, a turbo timer would be useful. Then you can have all that much needed attention as you carry your quick release steering wheel into 711 like a bad ***.
