Steering Problem

http://pittdp.homestead.com/underhood.html
This page denotes an adjustment screw located someplace to tighten the steering. Two problems with this...

A) Will it work with Powered Steering
B) Where in the hell is it? (if it doesn't work with PS, then I am not blind...)

I hope it works on power steering, thats on my todo list for this weekend when the atf is brewing. As for where it is... i guess its time to play hide and seek.

The steering box is right in the engine bay, down low on the driver's side closer to the firewall. At least on my car..

Careful you don't overtighten it... read www.mazspeed.com "facts" section for a detailed guide to clearing up steering play.

As well, check your idler arm bushings- they get roasted fast because they're right beside the exhaust, and they contribute to steering play.

I do not know if it works on power steering, the pic I have on my page is for non power steering and I would guess that it would be a different setup. I will update my site and denote that that it is for non power steering, If I find any info on power steering I will add.

will try this .. had some play in mine.. anyone else try it?

I've done it with the help of someone knowledgeable (RXcetera) - it works, just be sure not to overtighten.

The way to do it is to fix all other sources of play (idler arm, etc.) before messing with the steering box. IMO it's the final adjustment, not something you should be reefing on all the time.
