steering angle

Ok guys I'm currently drifting a 83 fb and I've come to a level where I'm in need of more steering angle. I want to do an fc subframe swap in the future but as of now I need some suggestions or ideas so I can increase my angle on the current setup. I've removed the steering stops but can't think of anything else.

Scratch the fc subframe swap. Formula drift doesn't permit it so I'm stuck with the original subframe. Still need some ideas.

Hey there im currently fitting a 2:1 ratio on my steering coloumn and im almost done. i know i wont give you more angle but i will get you there much faster and i will allowe you to adjust where you want the steering wheel.
now if you want more steering angle you coult maybe look in to spacers ore extending the lower control arm. ivé done both on my rallycar and ther is no way i need the full angle.

Best Regards Rasmus from Denmark

How are you doing the 2:1 ratio? What are you using to achieve this?

I bought a kit on ebay its called a steering quickener i bought the kit with 2 u joints and a steeringwheel. If you use the SA steering box its pretty easy to re-use the collapsable coloumn and with the u joins you get adjustable cloumn and better safety.
The ebay company is motorsports warehouse direct i think
Best regards Rasmus

Are you currently drifting in Grassroots or Pro-Am? don't worry about FD regulations until the time comes because most likely you will be in a different car (even if it still is an FB/SA)

Number one rule of drifting, Have fun!

What is ur current setup for drifting? Engine and suspension upgrades....

Maztang5.0 01-26-15 06:56 PM

I'm currently running a mustang 5.0 w/ t-5 transmission. The rear end is a Ford 8.8 I shortened by 3 in. I have rb springs in the rear and stock up front. I have a custom drop centerlink I made. Removed the steering stops and about to upgrade to power steering.

Check out my Facebook page to see some of the build. It's obviously a project but I drift it at every event that is held here in Phoenix.

Sorry it's NYA Drifting on Facebook

Nice. Was hoping u was still rotary powered.

Maztang5.0 01-26-15 07:53 PM

I get that but you really can't be competitive with a rotary unless you do something like what mad Mike did and do 4-rotor turbo.

Yeah, you need a lot of weight on the front axle to do donuts in a parking lot.
