Starting Problem
 

So I do about 45 minutes of hard driving today....hitting higher speeds. Got home..shut the car off and about 8 hours later I went back out to it and tried to start it..no dice...my gas gauge recently quit working so I figured I ran it outta gas. I got and stick about 5 gallons in it and it still wont start.

The car has never flooded....ever...but I thought "ok first time for everything" so I held the pedal to the floor and tried to crank it for about 20 seconds...still no luck.
It was dark so I couldnt check the plugs...whats the problem?

Ive also notice that sometimes when I turn the switch on I hear the fuel pump and sometimes I dont. Is this right? Could my starting problem be my fuel pump?
How do i turn it on manually?

OK so I used some EZ start and still no joy..im not getting spark from the coils...wtf? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Neither coil is getting spark, then? Check the engine fuse in the passenger compartment. If it was just trailing that isn't sparking, that woulkd likely be a bad ignitor. The SE uses the signal from the trailing - terminal to determine when to fire the injectors, so no spark on the trailing means no fuel either.

If you are getting spark on the leading, unplug the blue connector on the - trailing terminal and plug it into the - on the leading coil. This will cause the injectors to fire off the leading signal. This will get you by until you fixed the problem. Do you have a multimeter or test light? See if you are getting power to both coils.

stick your hand in the AFM (underneath the air filter) and see if the flapper down there is sticking. push it and it should return back and go "clunk." it could be causing it to flood the second you turn your key on. the se models fuel pump ONLY runs when the engine cranks over.
