Started my car yesterday....?

ok yesterday i started my car, the last time i was in it the clutch worked, but yesterday it was dead just flopping so I checked the fliud and it was full. what could be the problem is it not set in properly or has a linkage or cable come undone. I know nothing about how the clutchs goign to the traqnsmission, but i couldnt drive it cause there was nothing . but the last time i used it, it did work.

I did a search for this yesterday but i have no clue what to look under

any help would be appriciated

the clutch is hydraulic. little master cylinder by the brake master cylinder.
#1 check for fluid.

rxtory 02-09-06 07:13 PM

the fluid is old so yea it is brown would that effect it to much, i wasnt gunna absoultly drive the car yesterday so i didnt think i would need to change it just it was a bitch trying to get it back up the hill in my drive way

666mike666 02-09-06 07:16 PM

yes that would effect it do you know how to bleed the clutch

Midwest 7's 02-09-06 07:19 PM

sounds like the slave is bad.

rxtory 02-09-06 07:19 PM

i have had to bleed brakes before, so wouldnt it be doing the same thig jsut to the clutch

666mike666 02-09-06 07:20 PM

yes it is the same thing

rxtory 02-09-06 07:26 PM

k i was hoping it was somehting like this rather then trying to track down a connecting rod or something. the only reason why i wouldnt think it would have been with the fliud is because no even 4 months ago it was wotking

666mike666 02-09-06 07:29 PM

ya just try to re-bleed it and if still nothing then the slave cylinder you can pick one up at lordco for 25$

rxtory 02-09-06 07:58 PM

hahahah well i have no clue lol. adn i didnt mean like a rod that would go straight from the pedal to the tranny i ment it from whenre the pedal goes from the inside to out

Have you tried to just let the car run and pump the pedal by hand? Sometimes you can get the pressure to come back up this way. I've had this happen in my SA before and it was a temp fix till I replaced the cylinder.

You don't NEED a clutch to drive your car. ;)
