Start button kit

Would anyone be intrested in a complete kit which would install a start button in your RX-7 in about 20 minutes??

The button would replace your cig lighter...and be a matter of you removing the cig lighter...placing the button and its mounting plate in its place...running the wires to the ignition...and connect the wires as per the instructions (maybe on DVD)

price would be around $100 cdn funds + s&h

Man, button starts are awesome. I think. My bro has one on his escort. I like it.

How much is that US money?

YapaKanichi 07-18-04 10:31 PM

Junia 07-18-04 10:32 PM

Yeah but without that lighter how are you suppose to light your cigarette or put burn patterns in your interior.

A lighter?

leif 07-18-04 10:42 PM

my "new dash" post and see mine installed

This is really only for 84/85 cars I guess, it would kinda gay with a start button all the way over where it is for the earlier cars. Would look awesome on a Series 3 though.

I would like one installed where the antenna switch is or whatever the fuck that switch is next to the power mirror switch.

leif 07-18-04 11:22 PM

antena switch?? the kit will be able to be mounted anywhere...I can custom make plates for where ever you want it...and where the lighter is does look cool

leif 07-18-04 11:36 PM

leif 07-18-04 11:49 PM

hotwire it in....my dad does that for his lexus...he runs power to it up from the lighter...through the A pillar...accross the headliner to the map light...where he has an attachement there...no anoying chord

faye x7 07-19-04 12:22 AM

snake eyes<l><l> 07-19-04 12:51 AM

k this might just be a stupid question, but what would stop someone from just breaking the window (cause none i know of came with security systems and just pressing the button and driving away with the car? or is it hooked up so the key has to be inserted?

<l><l>

leif 07-19-04 01:08 AM

its hooked up so the key has to be inserted...like on the merc, aston S2000 etc. some think its silly, but its more for the cool factor than practicality...if we all wanterd practicality we would not drive 2 seat 20 year old cars which can only be fixed by gods

domesttuner 07-19-04 01:30 AM

would this work for an fc?

Unsupa 07-19-04 02:02 AM

It'd work with any car... all you would be doing is taking the switch from the 'key turning action' and putting it into a button. looks pretty good, nice job.

leif 07-19-04 08:56 AM

Its a bit more complicated than that i have found...you need to make a relay system for the entire ignition...not hard to do, but more complicated than i originaly thought.

timmya2 07-19-04 09:01 AM

i would definately buy it if you can ship here in convict land

leif 07-19-04 01:03 PM

i can....if you promise to remove the dancing wonder from your avitar...freaky

leif 07-19-04 01:07 PM

oh...and yes i can adapt it for an FC

RotaryRyan 07-19-04 01:30 PM

Sounds like an overall good project/product to me :D

leif 07-19-04 03:24 PM

it will be....im going to put it on stirlings "back yard mechanics coop"
