Which stands to make more power?
 

Not only power, but easier to work on, jet, tune, etc.

BTW, this is on a 13B with large SP

A Holly 600 or Webre 45?

I've never done a 4 barrel before...but have carb experience from friend bikes, car projects, etc.

Weber 45 is 2 small, but a Weber owns a Holley

Get a Weber 48.

Weber 48 or 52, hands down.

Weber is easier to jet.

I wonder if a 52mm would flow as much as a Holley 670 Avenger? Thinking of going Weber with my SC instead of Holley. Could either support 400hp? Thats about what I will have.......I would go EFI if it wasnt' throttle body injection.

Top End Power will definately be better with a Holley. They have significantly more CFM, and the 4 barrels offer pretty good milage.

They are also nice and easy to turbocharge too

Webers are also very easy to turbocharge. I would take a Weber over a Holley any day.

Yea, I do have Webre/Mikuni experience but little with the 4 barrels, thats why I ask...
I'd had a really great deal lined up for a 45 with abunch of other cool goodies but it fell through so now its back to the drawing board.
The dual throat throttle body thats always selling on ebay is very tempting along with a megasquirt, but I don't know if I can do it all under budget. Anyone ever mess with one?

And yes mike, is it a large SP...I gotta send you the template and show you how stupid crazy it is...crazy thing about it, it looks like they expect some fool to cut up a 6P to make it ;)

:webers look cooler, holleys are so domestic :)

82 streetracer are you reading my mind? if so quit it out!! not only do webers look cool with my beloved velocity stacks oh yea!! but they are better at all of the listed qualities and holleys are so ''white trash'' besides if mazda used them on their racing 12as and 13bs in their ever dominatin rx3s then they must be something!

what produce better hp, and what would you all reccomend? Carb or EGI?

Why are webers so much better than holley? Seems like its easier to get parts for a holley. What are the differences in characteristics between the two carbs that make the webers so much better

holley's might stand the chance of being more streetable, but webers seem to work naturally with rotaries. really depends though, i have a chance at getting a holley 600 that has already been set up for a 12a with the manifold for really cheap. and since i dont have a working carb right now, i might give it a shot. :boink:

Every one is saying weber but if you research this you will find that as far as rwhp all test done by racing beat and atkins show that holley is better for racing applications.

i have never seen racing beats dyno charts. that would be nice. where are they?
