Son of a b*tch!!!

So, I lost one of those little ball bearing things that go inside the switch that pops up the headlights about, oh, a month ago. I ordered new switches on Ebay, which stupid me didn't realize, didn't come with the backs.

Then, mysteriously, the ball bearing materializes.

My girlfriend, whom I adore for making my new door panels and interior (and also because she has a hot ass...) took said ball bearing, and taped it to a piece of paper so it wouldn't get lost.

Guess what? The ball bearing and the piece of paper it's taped to are gone. Vanished.

Fuck.

Well, in the meantime, here's my interior going back in...

You took apart the switch...?

I didn't even know you could do that, lol...!

BTW, the car's looking good!

$100T2 10-17-05 08:05 PM

Yeah, I took it apart A) because I'm an idiot, and B) because I didn't think there was any other way to get it out.

Now I'm fucked.

go find some bee bee's for a BB gun if that doesnt work. Go to a cookie shop and get the BB sized candy metallic balls and try those. Im serious it sounds dumb but they might work.

smnc 10-17-05 08:33 PM

I think I got rid of my switches, but I'll take a look for ya in the morning...

skrewloose78 10-17-05 08:38 PM

i think i might have some laying around. 84-85 model?

$100T2 10-17-05 08:47 PM

Yep. Thanks for the help guys.

Oh, and for those of you who are removing/reinstalling dashboards... Taking out the gearshift and ebrake handle make it so damn easy!!

Looks really good. Dash looks shiny. I just took my Dash out.. what a pain in tha A$$. I have to replace the heater core valve. I didnt need to take my switches apart when removing the dash; just unclipped the wiring from behind. Im sure u can pick those switches up at the wreckers for $5. is that new carper as well? im thinking of installing new carpet while my dash is out. Where did u get it and how much did it cost.

-thx

Allen

keep up the good work.

Allen,

I was lucky... My carpet was in awesome shape... It was just maroon. So I dyed it black. The dash was also maroon. As was the rest of the interior. I've got a couple threads laying around here if you want to see how it all came about.

id like to know how that dye holds on in time on the carpet. i was thinking of doing it but instead i may just buy a bunch of generic carpet from a stereo shop and cut it to fit..

go to a bike shop, they will have allmost any size ball bearing you will need.

GavinJuice 10-18-05 03:52 AM

$100T2 go to your local transmission shop. they should have a shitpot of BB's or (checkballs) as they call them. Automatic trannys have a half a dozen of them in the valvebody and they can easily get lost. You should be able to find any size if the place is friendly.

$100T2 ,
Just to let u know your projects are inspiring. I got a set of gray panels and did them black with the rit, and leather dye, and they look great. Thanks for posting your how-to's It's hard as hell finding black interior pieces. Now it's not all that hard.

Hahaha I sound like a testimonial from an informercial. It's all good though Thanks man! :bigthumb:
