Someone please help BAD MISS!!

I just got my rex on the road and it had a pretty bad miss to it at about 2000 RPM and higher. I just replace my plugs with NGKs and wires with BOSCH high performance wires and was very dissapointed when I started my car up. It sounded a little better but it still had the miss at about 2000 and higher. I was wondering if anyone has has this problem and what the cure was for it. My mechanic who is pretty good by the said that he heard a vacuum leak when he listened to my engine could that be making it miss like that. I also cleaned my rotor and cap but I dont think i need a new one.
:(

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!!
Joshua

Make sure all of your plug wires are going to the correct spark plugs. Then check for vacume leaks.

Oh yea, and get NGK!!!!!

would the vaccum leak make it miss like that?

moremazda 07-27-02 01:54 AM

It could if the leak is large enough. When there is a vacume leak the motor is taking in air that carb is not compesating for. You begin running lean.

Did you check your spark plug wires yet?

yeah i just replaced them tonight

make sure your trailing and leading coils are hooked up right. if its a 79, then trash the points dizzy and go electric. you could also be running low on fuel delivery. check your wires first, then go for the fuel filter etc.

check your fuel filter too. they're cheap, easy to change, and need to be replaced regularly anyway.
