Some seal questions...Please help.
 

Ok, new tranny seals came in today, do they tell me in the manual how to put them in, or is that something I will try and figure out on my own? Also, anyone have any tips for the install? One more for ya...The big seal on the rear of the engine under the fly wheel...What is it called? Should I replace it since I have the flywheel of anyway? Where can I get one, and more importantly, can I replace it without tearing the whole engine apart?

I believe you have to tear at least the back of the engine off...all those bolts! The Chiltons manual tells how to put those seals in.

The front trans seal and rear trans seals are self explanatory.. Your smart you will have no problem...

The rear engine seal is called the crankshaft seal. Remove the flywheel and its just a pry the old one out press the new one in with a block of wood type of thing...

I have an extra crankshaft seal here, new in the baggy :)

To replace the front tranny seal you'll have to take the small front cover off that's inside the bellhousing, the seal is inside the front cover plate. If there isn't tranny fluid inside the bellhousing when you take it apart then this seal is mostlikely good and doesnt require replacement, though you may want to anyway. They sold you a new tranny front cover gasket too right? Removal of the rear tranny seal is similar to the removal of the rear main seal on the engine.

Yeah, I got them all, thanks guys. It was a lot easier than I feared. No problems here, I actually used a roll of partially used duck tape to press in the crankshaft seal :). It was the right size and it worked out well, so whatever :). Also, yes I did get the gasket, Racing Beat sold me both seals and the gasket for $11 as a kit, which was cheaper than I could buy them all locally for seperatly. Anyway, Im almost there! Im happy, she may be on the road in just a few days :).
