So, shall I or not?

OK,

I just bought a 1979 Rx7, rust free, 98,000 miles, white - cream/white with very, very little wrong with it. I plan to SOLO-2 the car with the SCCA, but I am also considering making into a fully prepared ITA or PRO-7 racecar.

Hey, I used to race.

Is this car worth anything more to anyone else, would it be a sin to gut it, put a cage in it and throw away just about every original part?

Let me know, I don't know what to think...

I was thinking of making it 100% original (not hard to do) and fix all that's broken and drive it back to Chicago and sell it to someone who wants it original more than I do.

I think you should restore it.. there are quite few "stock" cars left..

Whatever makes you happy, bu if it were mine, I'd restore it :D As was stated earlier, there arent many stock 7's left around, theve all been modded, swapped and gutted already :(. Anyway, just do what you want, but if it were me, I'd save the poor thing...

restore it, would be a shame to gut it :(

Gut it and have fun. Stock cars have very , very little $ value. Even low milage , mint examples. I know, I have one and the only interested parties want it for free.
