ah yes, thats a question to, are there provisions for a choke on the dhla?

and going like a raped ape with the dell and exhaust sounds pleasing... doin it on a 12a cant be all that much different than a 13b.

yes ... the Dell has a choke.

i don't think the Weber IDA has one (based on what the RB catalog said). i know that some other Webers have choke, but i don't know if the DCOE is one of them.

for some strange reason, i've seen Holleys with chokes, but i've never seen a Holley on an Rx-7 with one - huh???

And if so, when you are deciding on a intake manifold, where do they tell you about how it is tuned? Any good definition of a harmonic? And lastly, does this wave tuning and the length of the intake matter under forced induction?

I'm using duplicolor 500* engine enamel. I was wondering if the exhaust ports get close to that temp. If they do it could blister the paint and make it peel off. I should have pics friday, unless I am holding a winning ticket for the power ball, then I'll be working on having a house built with a giant ass garage and I won't have pics of the engine until after I move:D

No, it shouldn't. The guy who bought my "organ donor" has a stock-port 12A. Dellorto, Full RB exhaust, E-Fan and the direct fire mod with the three coils.

That is the strongest running 12A I have ever driven, and you would really feel the "G"s after 4500 RPM.

He also bought my present car's old GSL-SE 6-port engine, and is having it ported and rebuilt right now. With the other mods he already has, that car will be a high 13 second car when it's finished.

Besides that, it is literally mint, mint, mint. It looks like it came from a time machine it's so perfect. Even I am a little jealous.

you ask a few questions that i will admit upfront, are way, way over my head.

i would guess that the R&D as far as wave tuning and such probably come from a combination of CAD and virtual mockups ... and if the intake company has a decent relationship with the car manufacturer, then they may get a few early production models for testing and such ... but the honest-to-God truth is i have no clue! hopefully someone else can shed some light on that.

definition of a harmonic? i would guess any physical phenomenon that can be plotted against time so you have a repeated wave, would qualify as a harmonic (e.g.: intake pulses, radio waves, etc.) - however, i'll leave it to the physics/engineer guys that are more in touch with these things.

for forced induction ... i think some of the issues with wave tuning get solved by virtue of the fact that you are FORCING the air in, and then there's a blow-off valve to purge most of the rest.

again ... i hope someone will correct or enlighten me if i'm wrong. my head hurts now ...

I like breaking the mold of conventional thought, thinking outside the box, and asking questions that inspire original thought. It would be boring if everyone asked the same questions and we could just give the same preprogramed responses.
