side skirt/ rocker panel valence mounting
 

I have had these 2 side skirting pieces around here for years and am finally going to mount them. I am looking for input on the ways everyone is mounting them.
Are you just screwing them on or glueing them on or bondoing them on and using bondo to mold the edges in?
What would you say is the ultimate, most flawless way to do it.
I have waited a long time to install them so I don't mind taking the time to do the job as best that I can.

i would think some good 3M double sided tape on the body mating surface and then some screws or nuts/bolts to secure it on the wheel well sides.

IIRC those are from the 'eribuni' ground effects kit and are fiberglass.

The very best mounting method would be to rough up the quarter panels where the skirts touch them, then mix up fiberglass resin and chopped glass or glass weave and put a few layers inside and outside to bond it to the metal. For the ends, those should be attached with self-tapping screws, and also consider a brace at the bottom to attach to the monocoque frame rails on each side. Once bonded completely, then sand, prime and repaint.

The next best method and what the rest of us usually do is just mount the ends and the braces with screws and call it a day. If you ever damage one, it's far easier to just remove the screws and let it drop off than have to cut and grind it off because of all the fiberglass work.

The first method is more 'show car' or perfectionist route - the second is a DD/enthusiast path. Good luck, whatever you choose, and those are nice skirts,

They look like 180SX "Type X" skirts. I had some on my old SilEighty about 10 years ago.
