Which should I sell?
I've started advertising the rex, but I'm not so sure. I have 2 sports cars and neither work very well for a family of 4. I have to sell one. I chose the rex, but I'm not so sure I made the correct decision. Whatcha guys think?

Selling your RX-7? After you just got it and upgraded the seats?
You're gonna regret it. You have a one of a kind, that is completely irreplaceable. Not to mention, you can drive it daily, without any headaches. Big Mistake. I cambe back into RX-7's after being apart for 8 years. I wish I never left. |

atleast try to sell the vette', see how much you can get for it. besides your rx-7 is beatiful...its wide body right?
|
I wouldn't want to be in your shoes!...lol... They are both Hot!!!!!! Good Luck deciding!

Nice cars, but the 'vette is nothing new. I could duplicate that shit with a checkbook and a Jegs catalog in a matter of months. The 7 is really fresh looking and so exotic. You know it turns the heads way better !
Let your conscience be your guide, Grasshopper ! |
The vette has to go...
|
Ugh...pistons vs. rotors...no brainer...the rex is way sexier anyhow...and why sell the rx if you like it better? even if the 'vette cost you more...doesnt make sense...choose wisely...remember...hindsight is 20/20 ;)
|
personally I would have to agree with everyone else and say sell the vette. You said it, you personally like the rex better, so what you put a lot of money into the vette. All that money doesn't make you like it better, so go with what YOU like better. Its the love for the car not the money invested.
|
Put the vette on ebay and see what happens.Set the reserve high and give it a shot.I have seen some really stupid bids lately and you might get lucky.
|
it's cheaper to keep her than to get rid of her!!
|
If you like the rex keep it, but You have more invested into that vette than the rex . You will not get 30k out of the vette but you can never get more out of a car than you invest (usually) anyways. I would sell the rex if i had to i couldnt just watch 30k go out the window for 11k
|
i bet the people on the corvette forum would say the exact same thing (opposite) about the rotors vs. pistons and how the rx7 is not a classic or whatever, but you know what we say. that rex is nice.

I advertised both, and I'll let the public decide. Which ever sells first the other is no longer for sale. I just can't make up my mind.
|
thats a good way to put it but what if someone comes up to you and wants both!
|
That corvette is going to be sold way faster than the rx7.... america loves that car, and they don't have any particular love for the rx7 and rotary.
We are definately biased towards the rx7. But, if you like the rx7 better, then sell it. It is definately rarer than the vette, and plus, you will have more money in the bank selling the vette. A loss in investment, yes, but there are other ways to look at it. At least you will have 11k in cash. |
i'd sell the vette man, u have one of the coolest looking SA's on here... ur vette would also net u plenty of money to do more to ur 7;) lol

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet... just keep both. You say you have a family of 4 now, which is awesome. My dad used to be a hard core collector of 1970 datsun 240 z's. He got rid of them all. Now I'm 20, and ever since I was little I wished he had kept them, if nothing else, as fun things to look at/keep clean/keep running till I was mature enough to have one of them... So I say keep them both. However, if I had the money I would probably buy the Vette off of you, I LOVE old vette's, and yours looks particularly awesome. but my vote stays, keep them both. I mean, do you really need $12k THAT badly? keep them, give one of them to your kids when they are mature enough to have it... Another option, if you have the time/effort, part out your 7, to us. ;) in the long run parting out will get you more money anyway.

with the vet you need to expand your area of available buyers. from what I have seen 20K would be closer to what you should be able to sell it for. just look for an area in the us that pays better for that kind of car. Or try runing it through the big auction (barret jackson).

Thanks for all the advice. I read alot of valid points. However I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I advertised both. Whichever sell first. I obviously keep the other. I'd love to keep them both but my garage is stuffed. I have a full size milling machine and lathe in my garage along with the vette. One has to go.
My wife says one has to go. Dont take it like I'm a wuss. I can do what ever I want as long as she says it's ok. Piece of advice to you young bucks. "if she ain't happy, you ain't happy. |
