Should I get it, or is it trouble?

This guy has a 86 5sp 7 and says that the coils are no good on it. He says $200 and its mine. I dont want the car, just the engine... Is it pretty feasable (sp?) to do a swap like that and should I go carbed or stay with the FI? From what i've heard the computer goes before the coils so he's prolly reallly miss lead.. and everyone in town is deathly afraid of RX-7's... so you get the idea... Let me know what you think.

if you want it for just the motor be sure to compression test it beforehand and make sure it's good. Parting out and/or disposing of a car you don't want takes time and effort.

For comparison I got a junkyard long block 12a for $125.00

Talk to Paul Aber, he's on this forum and has already done that swap.

Well in my area a 12a doesnt exsist in a junkyard, alone a first gen 7. So its very slim pickings when somethind does come up.

Do a compression check, and swap that baby. You will want to go crab. You will love the added power:)
