Shocks Struts etc.

I want a nice stable quite ride.

Driving a 85 GSLSE.

What brand of shocks, struts, sway, bushings should I buy? Are there any modifications I could perform that will assist?

I'm tired of my car shaking/rattling, etc.

I'm looking for after market hardware, not OEM.

Thanks ppl.

M.

Well, if it's shaking and rattling, the first "suspension" thing I would look into would be a strut tower brace... Maybe switch to someurethane bushings..

Switching struts and shocks will tune the handling of the car and the transient response in corners, but not so much for body rigidity.

I guess before we suggest the "best" some input on what you want is needed. Do you race? Do you want a cushy ride? A spirited (more harsh) ride? How threashed is your current suspension? etc etc etc. :)

Sorry too many questions, I know...

read up at:
1) www.racingbeat.com - mmm.. triangulated strut tower brace (vision homer simpson drooling here...)

2)www.mazdatrix.com - more aftermarket stuff
3)www.rx7.com - good people, denect prices and info.
4)www.ground-control.com - much more racing related suspension tuning folks (higher spring rates, coil-overs etc)
5)http://www.gforceengineering.net/ - the end-all-be-all in 1st gen suspension tuning...

Enjoy! :)

i would not suggest urethane bushings if this is a street driven car. it will make the ride a lot nosier, and not as smooth as some new rubber ones. down side of rubber bushings, though, is that they donot last as long..

ebach and rb make good springs.. i would go with tokico struts if you want to replace those too.

Where can i get a good price on springs for a 80 RX-7?
Want to lower about 1 inch front/rear.

i think springs costs are comperable in most places.. if i go coil-overs then i will probably get eibach , otherwise i am thinking of getting some rb springs for my SA.

check out mazdatrix, rb, or any of those type of places
