shipping confusion

Hello, I ordered my rb exhaust in 2 orders, one of them with the header and presilencer and another with the muffler... Anyways the first order was $400 dollars american and around 30 dollars shipping and wieghed 36 pounds... So today my Racing beat Power pulse muffler arrives weighing 35 pounds, a $300 order i paid 40 dollars to racing beat for P&H and then UPS wanted 70 dollars duty for the package... Why the duty? The first package weighed more and there were no duty charges... Im wondering if im just stupid or if you guys think that UPS screwed me out of 70 bucks. Oh and note both orders were shipped to Canada one in 2004, and the other about 2 weeks later 2005 if that makes a difference.

Thanks Dan

I'm amazed UPS didn't screw you on the first package too!
NEVER ship cross border with UPS!
I ALWAYS uses USPS.

If I were you, I'd just count myself lucky that you only got nailed once, and let it drop.

seriously though 120 dollars canadian to ship 240 dollars of parts? rediculous, and on top of that it was ground shipping. Discouraging... ill reconsider next time i have to ship something over the border... Gotta love Racing beats parts gotta hate 120 dollars of shipping fee's for a muffler

you could willcall fedex it to the closest US fedex office and pick it up too.

Dan_s_young 01-11-05 07:36 PM

do you mean get fedex to ship it or for me to go across the border and pick it up at an american UPS office? (extremly unpractical 10-15 hour drive and not enough time)

USPS is the way to go... UPS will rape you bad... I bought a $30 US grounding kit off e-bay, and paid $28 CDN on taxes, duty and brokerage fees....

10-15 hrs. from US, where are you, at an arctic research station?

5 mudslides, and now I'm a post whore.

Btw, that shipping deal is f'd up.

Its cold enough outside to be... tomorrow is gonna be -40 degrees celcius... The problem i have is I don't think Racing beat offers other shipping options besides UPS. Lame taxes

I'd have to agree about using USPS for international shipments over UPS.

Is USPS united states postal service? I honestly have only heard of UPS... Would Racing beat send stuff USPS? Thanks
