shift knob thread size

I'm looking for a threaded insert to make a new shift knob. I've seen the size listed as 12mm x 1.50 and also as 12mm x 1.25.
Does anyone know which is correct? 1985 model year.

Thanks

I'm not sure, but where did you find the inserts? Been looking around and never found anything.

I think these will work if I can get the right thread pitch. Have you checked Grainger? They usually have everything. I've only just started looking into it because I couldn't find a shift knob that I liked. There is also a company called E-Z Lok that makes threaded inserts. They have a pretty good selection and look easy to install.

Threaded shaft for shifter knob is 12mm x 1.50mm,same as lug nut/bolt on car.

Awesome. Thanks. I'm going to have my friend make an insert. I think the rivet nuts would work but I don't really know what they are.
