Shaved Engine bay

First time using this, n i was wondering if anyone has a shaved engine bay tucked wires or any ideas for one. I'm getting a new engine soon on my fb n while the engine bay is empty i want to shave it n paint it. anyone with pics please post thanks

i did this to a car once. its easy, but takes for ever. you have to unplug and pull everything out of your engine bay. Then take the entire front end of your car off and your dash out. Pull the harness' through the firewall and route them out of the car behind the fender to the front of the car. Waste of time and pointless. I was young and thought it looked cool, which it still looks cool..........

if you drive with your hood up..

if its not a show car, whats the point?

by no means did my first comment mean to stop you from doing it. Id like to see it myself. Just tucking all the wires looks awesome. actually shaving your bay welding up all unnecessary holes, cutting off usuless mounts, removing all seamsealer, and smoothing everything out is rough. then preping and painting is rediculously tedious. if you do it, be prepaired to have your car down for a long time. But in the end, it will look badass!

Yeah I think Jeezus has been working on his for at least a year now along with
some engine work. Maybe he will chime in and share some pointers.

Yeah sord of figured it would take forever cuz i already got rid of all emissions n cut down my wire harness which took longer then i taught n just to finish with the conclusion that for the complete job like cshaw07 said i would have to pull out the dashboard n front end which sucks because i have no garage. but i do know how to weld a bit n i do body work

that engine bay looks soooo clean they got away with it n its turbo'd n fuel injection im getting a old school 13b with down draft soo less wires

thanks for the input :)

Do it and post a build thread...

Erik Paez 06-16-11 12:30 PM

Ill take pics of my engine bay as i have it right now n if i do make any other progress on stripping it down ill show. might do battery relocation next

cshaw07 06-16-11 12:31 PM

battery relocation mod is an excellent idea. if even only for weight distribution

Erik Paez 06-16-11 12:41 PM

yeah but that's a must just to start cleaning up the bay n get most wires out of there

you guys did notice the brake booster is on the other side of the car right? This is an Aussie car... those guys are famous for there ridiculously clean engine bays and wire tucks. Head over to some of the Australian rotary forums and you'll see a lot more cars like this, and probably get a few tips as well. I'm in the process of tucking my wiring right now, and lets just say it's not for the faint of heart!

DarrenTRS 06-16-11 10:51 PM

Sadly those are all the ones I have.

Yep, been doing it for a while off and on.

When I get home I will post up, I haven't updated the thread in a while.
