serious problem!
 

ok i have a serious problem my car wont start it doesnt even crank or ne thing you turn the key n nothing at all happens i have a new starter n new ignition n all that so its not that i dont know what to do can someone plz tell me!!?

first of all do your accessories work? if they dont, clean off your battery terminals. if they do work, check all the wire connections (3) on the starter solenoid. also ive read the starter ground strap is unreliable.

is the starter ground strap expensive n where do you think i can buy one?, n can you tell me where the starter solenoid im only 16 n i dont know the most about cars so if you could, would you help me out

im only 17 :) i am a little confused about the ground strap myself. where does it located? there isnt one on my starter. or is it just the main ground strap? as far as getting one you can probably find it at your local autoparts store. the starter solenoid is right on top of the starter which is located under the car at the rear of the engine compartment. just lift the car up on jack stands and go under the car straigght back and you will see it. if you have trouble finding it let me know i will give more detailed directions. like i said the solenoid is the smaller cylinder on top of the starter. there are three wires. the 2 bigger ones you will be able to see easily, they are connected with a nut and usually dont fail. however if you reach your hand above those, on top of the starter is the connector for a small wire which falls off fairly easily. make sure it is connected securely. to check the other ones, disconnect them one at a time, and using a multimeter or voltmeter, touch one lead on the connecter on the solenoid, and one to the metal case of the starter, it should read around 12V.

you may also want to check the fuseable links, I believe the middle fuse is the one that kept mine from starting once,,,good luck....
