Seized rotary
picked up a 82 that's been sitting for 22yrs in a barn, it drove into the barn but is now locked up.whats the best way to unlock the motor, I've tried oil in the spark plug holes and down the carb and let it soak for a couple weeks, put breaker bar on flywheel nut but nothing yet any other ideas out there.

try SEAFOAM instead of just oil, tho not sure there may be much room inside to add it. If you have a carbon-lock, SF should take it out. Would go easy on the forced hand cranking too. If something IS locked or jamming, any rotor action may end up chewing up a housing. Suspect others will have some thoughts here...

Try removing the exhaust manifold and add the SeaFoam there. You might also try to pump any oil out of the plug holes. I have a brake bleeder that attaches to an air supply that would pump it out.

It's hard to break mouse bones up ..even when you try turning an engine with a breaker bar!!!!
I'll BET that is why your engine will not roll over..so My opinion is that you need to yank the engine and Rebuild it.. I purchased an outside stored car.Dude said his motor locked up so he took it apart..YEP...Say hello to my Little Friend!..Hi Mickey..! So this is why I am venturing that your situation is similar. |

Nope - if you are pulling it apart, then just go that route...easier, less chance of mucking up the motor bits
