seized engine?

i have a great lead to get an 82, i have not seen it yet, but am going to check it out tomarow, the carb does not work i do know that, the price is 300$, is there any way to know if the rotors have seized? im thinking i may be able to get it and use it for the motor to put in my 79, do you think it would be beter to change motors(if the motor is good), or just buy a new carb. What are the big things to check for a good rotary engine with out starting it? well thanks for the help. ill post on how tomarow goes

you can do a ghetto compression test.

do this one rotor at a time..

take one spark plug out (can't remember which one is best, i assume leading), and crank the motor over by hand. three strong PPF!s and you have 3 working apex seals.

2 PFF!s = wonky side seal
1 PFF! = wonky apex seal

i looked at the car today, the exterior and intoriory is in bad shape but, the engine and clutch and tranny look great and have been all rebuilt in the past 40,000 miles, it looks close to a done deal, but the only thing im worried about is the swap, they engines are both 12a but my 79 doesnt have a rats nest as big and all, um, to my knowledge should everything match up? like one motor to another tranny? thanks for the help
