Seafoam and smoke question
 

alright the day after i ran seafoam through my engine at start up it would blow white smoke until it was warmed up and not after and it has been like this for 2 days now i ran the piss out of it while the seafoam was in the tank but i never ran it past 6k rpms. I changed the oil the day after the seafoam was ran through
i'm not 100% sure it didnt happen before the seafoam but im 80% so is this normal or did i burn something up? :molepoke:

I recently did a pretty big seafoam treatment on my 7 and noticed that it smoked a decent amount. I also added an entire bottle to about 1/4 tank of gas. The smoke has eased up since I have added gas lately. Seemed to help with idle a bit.

I doubt that the Seafoam caused any issues, but if you continue to smoke you can try replacing a quart or two of oil with Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer. That stuff can work wonders sometimes...

If you put it in the tank it'll be a while to get it all out. I only put it through a vaccume hose when I use it. If it doesn't go away then you had a blown oil seal that was held together with carbon and the seafoam ate all the carbon and now it somkes. REBUILD!!!

it only smokes before it is warmed up and only above 3k rpms? and it is still doing it about a week later

Make sure that your oil level is not too high...

I'm not going to repete myself. WTF did I just say? Your symptoms are of a bad or failing oil seal. You'll believe me in 5000 miles whe you're eating a quart an hour...

If you expected the SEAFOAM to Work,IT DID.It removed the carbon,and Unfortunatley removed the carbon to Uncover an OIL Control ring Problem.That my friend is the Downside of SEAFOAM.It works TOO damn GOOD...Hyper is right....sometimes the Snake-Oils can come back to Slap you in the face.Good thing that you know know instead of later though,yOu may be able to Save the engine from any damage by doin a rebuild NOW,While the parts are good,rather than rater when the parts will need replacing...Rotary engines have 3 modes for running ..Well,Problems and Rebuild...

Well that sucks cause i cant afford the down time for a rebuild i dont have the tools palce or knowledge or money.

Drain off the oil until the level is correct. If it is too high, you will smoke at mid to upper rpms. Since you have stated that it is high, I would correct that issue before I started listening to the rest of these hyperactive posters who are screaming about a blown motor.

My motor smoked like a james bond car at upper rpms and on deceleration. Cars had to pull over until the smoke screen cleared (I am not kidding). My oil level was too high. I drained some off and added some of the Lucas. No more issues, and that was several thousand miles ago. And I beat the piss out of my motor too, and run autocrosses. I do not baby it. I literally drive it like I'm trying to kill it (I can afford to, with an entire spare drivetrain sitting in my garage). Now it has over 200,000 miles on it and I couldn't ask for anything better out of it.

So yeah, maybe you're motor is blown and everybody else it right. But wouldn't it make sense to check out the simple shit before you go looking for a new engine? If I am right, then maybe I'll save you a bit of time and money. And if I'm wrong, then maybe you'll waste a little time and money.... Please let us know what your results are.

I've had some success with the valvoline high mileage oil reducing oil consumption. Never tried the Lucas on a rotormotor but others like it, you should try out what ^ he said.
