SE--temp. sensor broke off inside water pump

Went to put a new coolant temp. sensor in the water pump housing of my '84 SE trying to fix my very rich starts...It screwed in almost all the way and then snapped off like a twig. There is nothing to grab ahold of to try and back it out.
Am I looking at getting a whole new pump and another sensor? Should I remove the pump and even try to remove what's stuck in there? I don't know how old my pump is, the whole thing is orange btw, so probably an upgrade from a P.O. Should I get OEM if available? If not, is there one kind or brand better than another? Any help is appreciated, thank you all.

The back part is the pump housing and that is not included when you buy a waterpump. You'll probably have to take the pump off so that you can work on it more easily. Maybe an 'easy-out' or similar will work. If you can't get it out, you might have to pick up a used pump housing from someone.

I see...There isn't much there, just a thin, hollow brass tube is all that's left. I'll have to try an easy out type tool as suggested. It will be a project for the upcoming 3 day weekend I suppose. Oh well, good reason to flush and refill the system anyway. One more thing. Can the pump and housing be removed as a whole and I'll only need a new housing gasket? And I do need a new gasket, right?

uh oh yoo hoo

Oh crap...Just remembered I have a yoohoo belt on it. This is going to be a problem, isn't it?
