can i use a 2nd gen rotor housings to replace se housings?

No, different coolant passages. Only 85 and older 13b's are compatible.

I think you mean the water seal grooves are different.

I still have a pair of old school 74-78 housings, but they aren't as good as the SE ones. Still waiting on a check from the other guy, not happy with his lateness. Midwest7s had a decent old school housing. With that one and my better one you could build a decent engine.

325 shipped for the SE housings, they were a bargain for the condition.

Not quite.

Anything up to 1985 = seal groove is on the rotor housing.
Anything after 1985 = seal groove is on the iron.
