se afm question/test

Ok so I was going to test my fuel pump today and go to the afm to push the door open and nothing happens.

So I take it out and check the resistance and the first test between pins e2 and vs reading are about 400 ohms where the manual says should be between 20 and like 500 ohms.

Does it sound as if the afm may be bad. Or what else could be causing the pump not to run even the the afm door is being pushed in.

the fuel pump needs a couple things to run.

in normal operation, the afm needs to be open, the ecu needs to see an RPM signal OR the START wire needs to be ON, so it can turn on the fuel pump relay which turns on the fuel pump

OR

you can jump the yellow plug by the airbox with the key on, and the fuel pump should run.

so just jumping the fuel pump switch in the afm by itself will not turn the pump on.

I have ran the pump previously just by pushing in the afm door with key "on"

A reading of 400 is normal. You have another issue.
