Scraping from the rear disc ?

So I have a problem, that I caused myself. Ill admit it, I was stupid. But hey.

I gave a gutter a love tap, one wet day a few weeks ago. Now when the rear left wheel rotates, there is a scraping sound, which is the brake pad caliper, hitting the disc rotor.

What have I bent or buggered ?

Without pictures to work from, if the actual caliper (and not the brake pad) is rubbing the disc, I'd say odds are you bent the axle, likely the flange at the end that the disc bolts to. Possibly the brake backing plate and/or rear axle housing, too.

Must have been quite the love tap.

You could have also bent the caliper bracket but look at what DD said first.

yeah its a bent axle. put it on jacks so you can run it SAFELY. let it idle in 1st and it'll be obvious

Axle was rooted haha, also shattered the bearing... Cheers guys.

Juicy details but no pictures!?! Evidence of the carnage is required! Glad you got it figured out before something decided to break off and let the wheel go with it. Get a new axle and such?

I forgot to get picts haha. Had a mate do it, $120 all up, new axle and fitted. Top bloke too.
