salvage yard haul!
 

was bored today so I went for a drive and found a salvage yard that I haven't visited yet. here is my haul:

1 glass sunroof! ($10...yes $10!)
2nd generation alternator ($15 but $10 after core)
1 dizzy with ignitors ($10)
1 2nd gen direct fire module

for my maxima

a bunch of relays $1
1 ECU $5
1 tranny module $5
1 cruise control module $5
1 body control module $5
speakers $5
hood struts $5 each
1 clock and misc switches $7

nice day for a drive and a great haul!

I'll give ya $50 for all those 1st gen parts :)

Wow, great find! Wish I could find a place like that. Every new place that I find, I go in and look around, ask prices and such and they are always significantly high, almost approaching the same price as a new part :(

Doesn't help that I'm way out in the middle of no where too so these yards think they have the market cornered or something.

My best haul so far, gave a guy $20 to haul his 7 away. He had bought two and fixed one up by taking parts off of this one. The parts left were well worth over the $20 that I paid.

well, I went to two yards that day. The first one had a 2nd gen that had been smashed in the rear. It had a perfect engine bay and I was going to get the alternator out of it. I asked them how much and she said $35. I just looked at her and said, "I'll be on my way". She was probably in her 40s but looked much older. She didn't have any upper teeth and smoked way too much. It was like 20 minutes later that I found the other yard.

great find!! theres a yard here in ohio that has a 79 S model. its silver with steel wheels!! a lot of parts are stripped. i thought about going to pick it up because i wanted a set of steel 1G wheels. they even have the original center caps!

I went to a yard to get a clutch fan, when I brought it up to the counter the guy wanted $35. I counter offered $15 and he took it.

dang! I need those center caps!

dang..well, I'm glad I didn't counter with that woman. I wouldn't have found the other yard!

i'll go wednesday. if they are still there i will pull them for you. i'll let you know what i find and how much. do you still want me to pull them if they are no longer a complete set?

let me know of anything else you may need off of the car. i will see about getting all of that too. i need some parts as well so i will bring my truck and get what i can.

if the interior is black, I need both door panels (if in good shape). I guess the instrument cluster is gone?

I went to my fave boneyard in Fremont today and ythere was exactly ONE 79 there! Argh! Now I gotta find a new spot. Too bad: it was an easy and pleasant drive. I did get a rightside headlight assy for $25.
