Sad, Sad moment for me.

So here's the story. Was given an '85 rx-7 gs body that needed lots of tender love'n care. I took the time and built her back up. New motor, fuel tank, dash lights, hatch, exhaust, rad., clutch, tires, everything! After i got it running i put some nice "17's on it and was planning to drop it 2-3 inches. Now this is where it went down hill.............

After about three days I was on my way back from my girls place and got a call from my buddy telling me that his celica just shitted out. So i went to go see if i can find why and get it started again. Once i got there he turned it over and i heard the sounds of a motor with no compression. So i knew it was the timing chain and it snapped. He was broken hearted so he went in his car and smoked a bowl, I know anyone would do it too if they just fucked their car over. We were there a while trying to think of a way to get it home when the cops rolled up. (now here is a little something about me i was in the army and i have a mato i go by and is that i will give anyone respect until they disrespect me.) The cops came up to the door and asked what we were doing and we told him what has happened. He asked if we had weed and told him we did after awhile. So we all got searched. One of the cops was giving me a hard time. So i was doing the same to him. After awhile a third cop showed up and asked which car broke down the mazda or the toyota. So i said,"The toyota!! Rotarys live forever!" Then with out a beat officer "DICK" went on to say,"Yeah because thats why they still make rotarys!" In a joking tone of voice. Oh that made me pissed. I just told him that they were made all the way up 2001 but they stopped importing them in '96 because america has gay emmision standards. Besides the rx-8 is still in production with a rotary. Yeah that made him look bad in front of everyone. So i left to go take everyone home and went on my way home.

I was almost out of the city when i stop at an intersection and passed right by cop. And with out a beat he flipped a bitch and fallowed me. I got about 3/4 of a mile and the sex lights popped on. He came up to talked to me for a little bit took all my info, after i told i had the car for about 3 days and i needed to switched the insurence over from my other rx7 to this one. He went to his car and stayed their for a while. He came back to my car and asked to get out. So i did, I noticed a yellow carbon copy sheet in one of his hands (I knew exactly what that was). He said he was going to impound my car because the insurence i did have wasn't on the car i was driving. So he was going to impound it. I was almost in tears, Here was this car i basicly brought back from the dead. I had time, effort, and blood in that car and he was going to take it away from me. I tried to sympathize with him by telling him that with out my car i couldnt go to work to pay to get it out of impound. It didnt work. He called the tow truck and lit my cigaret. Oh it gets worst. He starts to ask about my car now. "Oh this car look nice, it looks like a screemer, oh and the sub in the back looks like it would hit hard." The prick rubbed it in and i was about to screem. The tow truck came took the car and the cop took me home. I never got her. She was at a tow lot for a while then it got sold for $800 bucks. The tires and rims coasted that much. So there it is a sad moment in my life.

how long was your car in the impound? I am preaty sure they got laws where ever your at about this sort of thing.

Sad fact is that you should have not been driving without insurance.

No see i had insurence but i thought that i had a month to switch things over. Most cops will give you a month too but i pissed off the wrong cop. i tried to find loop holes with my dads help who is a retired cop aswell but i couldnt find any. the impound lot had for about tree months.

Moral of the story: Don't piss off cops. They can easily screw you over.

How much would it have been to get it out of the impound lot? If you really loved the car, you would have found a way to get the money to get it out. 3 months is a long time for a car to sit there, and plenty of oportunity to get the car out.

You obviously have never had a car impounded. You gotta plan ahead how much money you want to spend to get it out, (Once your car is impounded) because you get charge everyday it's in there. By the time three months had gone by, It probably wasn't even worth the money to retrieve.

Most fb's that i've seen, If you haven't gotten it out within a week or two it's not worth the money.

why the hell did u let it sit in impound for 3 months if u loved it so much?

That sucks man, I am glad were i live if you get pulled over with no insurance, they do not impound your car, just give you a $500 ticket. Which kinda sucks too but you also drive away.

Have any of you ever had a car impounded? If you don't have the money right away it just keeps going up each day to the point to where you just can't afford it. So please think before you speak.

drug charge

Would hve been best to get the car out of impound ASAP.
I lost my first car this way.
On the good side you are not doing time on the drug charge!
